Most people probably didn’t pay much attention to the unemployment fund during the most recent budget augmentation. It is a rather small fund. It is somewhat rare for there to be an expense there, particularly when people quit their job.
I was not only fortunate to have survived the environmental problems, the harassment and the discrimination, but I also had enough paperwork to prove what happened at least to the State Of Nevada’s satisfaction. It is my understanding it is rather rare to meet the benchmark of quitting with good cause for unemployment purposes.
As a result of the unemployment decision, they inevitably received a bill for about the amount of the augmentation in the fund. The saddest part is if they had paid me my leave (I was confidential, not classified staff despite what HR still continues to claim) that amount would have been half as much. The HR Manager effectively managed to waste all her time, as she loves to do, on dead end causes. My end result was the same amount of money. If had been equitably paid my leave as her daughter (an actual classified employee that wasn’t eligible for payment) was, probably wouldn’t have even been a claim payout.
I guess that the person or persons never considered that I will always fight for the truth and equity. I would’ve told anyone in the same circumstance to not let one person determine their worth.
