Last summer I was just thankful to be alive and recovering. This year I have finally for the most part gotten my health back. I don’t intend to just sit at home and pace my yard to try and get my lung capacity back.
I am not sure what my summer entails yet. What I do know is I have the resources to actually go out and enjoy my life. My American Express points and Hilton point balance alone can get me across the globe. It is rather exciting.
I am thinking that I might take a trip up to Seattle to see family that I haven’t seen in a long time. I always say I am going to, so this is likely the year that I will. Between love for my family and an affinity for Seattle, I think would be one way to recharge.
I am also thinking some time in Montana and Idaho would do me some good. Escape the heat of the summer and enjoy greenery. The one thing I dearly missed when I was ill was the ability to get places that more resembled my true home in Colorado.
I never thought I would go from just struggling to breathe to having a life again. I am very grateful for that. The hardest part right now is trying to decide what my life should look like taking parts from the old and incorporating some new to continue my inner peace.
