So there are two possibilities to how I got issued a bad check. I blogged about the first part yesterday. The other alternative is they were in a hurry to issue an illegal payment to Diane Rodriguez after the Board declined to do so.
I must admit it seems more than coincidental that the check I received was almost identical to the amount they owed me. It is also suspicious that the check didn’t include any annotation that would have indicated that the payment wasn’t my leave, or intended for anyone else.
In fact, the check was issued to me without an invoice even. Apparently, the District Office was too lazy to even key in what they were paying. It must surely be nice to just throw everyone’s money around without even the slightest concern that the payment may not be legitimate.
The other alternative to what the check could’ve been for came to me weeks later when received a letter that said they weren’t paying my leave. Hope Blinco must have been busy that week because the letter signed by Andre Ponder included trademark grammatical errors that Blinco makes routinely. The letter never even once referenced the bad check.
The other alternative is they meant to pay Diane Rodriguez under the table and accidentally selected my name and mailed the check. That would be the only alternative to how I received a check, had stop payment placed on it, then they refuse to acknowledge they sent me the check even though I still have the physical check in my files.
Admitting they illegally paid Diane Rodriguez would be a compelling reason to pretend the check never happened. It would also explain why they never referenced it once. If they referenced it anywhere, it might raise questions about who the check was intended for. Don’t let Diane Rodriguez fool you, she loves to vacuum up money faster than a Kirby vacuum.
It is really a shame that downright illegal behavior like this is the normal for the District Office and nothing is even done by the District Attorney to curtail the behavior. I find myself wondering if he is on a commission structure because its a full-time job turning his back to the law.
