The District Needs Real Financial Support

I was hoping when I looked at the grant drawdowns, the situation would have drastically improved. The unfortunate reality is it doesn’t look much better than the last time I checked on EPage public access. Just as before the district is poised to revert a substantial amount of money back to the State of Nevada and the feds.

Sadly, the only line item is on track is the payments that are going to Dirty Diane Rodriguez. She never seems to miss an invoice. Apparently she is too busy stuffing her purse with $100 bills to actually perform the services that she is contracted to do. A large part of her contract was supposedly grant guidance, despite having zero experience doing so.

The Mineral County School District would’ve been much better hiring a CPA, potentially for less money. It is quite clear that her guidance is as valuable as an expired coupon. The general fund is a mess as well as the grants. They could be messed up for free.

All they have managed to do is double the cost of the finance department and not generate a single improvement. Part of Diane stuffing her purse was paying to redo policies that never occurred. To date, those policies are still outdated $30,000+ later. Some people would call that billing fraud.

At some point the State of Nevada really needs to step in and see where all her payments actually went to benefit the district. I am hopeful that the Legislatures will be successfully at restoring the Office of the Inspector General just for these types of scams. That would be the only way the public would ever know the true depth of the fraud.
