So one thing my psychiatrist and legal counsel have advised me to do is keep track of my horrific nightmares. I have desperately hoped and continue to hope that at some point they will stop. It is insane to me that almost a year after my departure I am still having the issues that I have. When people see me and I look tired, the nightmares are the cause.
My recurring nightmares that happen all night almost every single night is almost identical. I am gasping for air in my office. There is a short, heavy-set blurred lady looking like Hope Blinco is telling me to get back to work. My nose begins to bleed and an elderly lady with Diane’s frame laughs at me, which she did repeatedly.
These nightmares result in waking up soaked because I have night sweats. Sometimes I wake up sore from kicking and trying to fight back. Today I woke up on maybe 3 hours of sleep because of these nightmares. No amount of therapy has eliminated these nightmares.
I believe they result from people being allowed to continue to abuse the system as they abused me. Hope Blinco remains incompetent as she has always been, and Diane continues to cash in on a zero accountability consulting contract. These two are essentially still doing what they did to me on a more covert level.
We also have a School Board that does not think of the students, favoring themselves. They were notified of all the issues before I almost died from the illness. They chose to do nothing. They didn’t execute due diligence to determine what was going on. They shrugged their shoulders and left staff and students at imminent risk of injury.
Even now, the problem that bothers me is whether I execute a book deal or get a settlement. It doesn’t resolve that the community remains in danger. Any financial gain would not resolve the harm that is being caused. It pains me because I sit and watch the state let all this happen without their due diligence.
What if the academic problems are directly related to the issues I discovered? There is a strong link between academic achievement loss regarding mold, air quality, and potentially leaking systems pumping formaldehyde into classrooms. My only hope is that at some point, they can’t hide behind our buildings that are so unsafe and can’t prove which issue causes the problems of absenteeism and other academic issues.
If these conditions existed outside of Hawthorne, they wouldn’t stand. I can assure people in Vegas or Reno Hope’s Mold Emporium wouldn’t be a thing. It only exists because the state is quick to blame educators alone rather than look at contributing factors. I can only hope will change as I meet with the new Governor.
