I have seen a lot of positive changes amongst the various schools within the district. Although I can not say the same about the District Office staff, progress is progress. If the Mineral County School Board can’t pull it get it together the District will hit yet another iceberg.
It is not appropriate to expect an Interim Superintendent to completely solve problems without the security of a contract. Some of the issues facing the district, such as down right corrupt and crooked district level staff requires stability of a contract to actually begin to address them. An Interim status results in a limitation that the wicked will sabotage their true efforts and try and derail their attempt to become a Superintendent.
Horrible Hope Blinco, for example, continues to do huge disservice to the staff and students. I had a parent ask me recently what I knew about teachers at a site that didn’t even have a substitute license to be in a classroom, even though 3/4 of the school year has elapsed. It is a shining star of how inept and lazy Horrible Hope has become.
On the assumption its true, students have spent three quarters of a school year on an academic subject that was taught by someone that without a single valid credential. The primary role of Human Resources is ensure staff is qualified, credentialed, and background checks are done to an extent possible. If Horrible Hope was too lazy to track licensure, I have concerns that she is just as lazy when it comes to background checks? Can we really trust who is employed at the schools?
I have zero doubt that if an Interim anything attempted to as much as scold Horrible Hope, they would quickly find they are the one being punished. Horrible Hope thinks that she is sharp, but she is actually as intelligent as a pool noodle in my extensive experience. Trying to scold Hope results in issues just like how she “forgot” to make HSA payments when the educators pushed back against her unethical, illegal, or otherwise prohibited behavior.
