The lack of transparency at Mineral County School District is bordering criminal. I wish I were being dramatic, but I am not. Has anyone noticed that yet another budget cycle is about to pass, and not a single budget meeting has occurred? The tentative budget is due to the State of Nevada by April 15, 20223. I can’t help but feel part of the recent cancellation of the Board meeting was to avoid questions.
I looked across the state, and Mineral County is the only county that refuses to have budget workshops or committees. I would encourage everyone to look for themselves. This is not an accident. That past practice directly follows Dirty Dian Rodriguez. I am currently engaging the state as this is a direct violation of our state.
It seemed odd that public meetings for the budget were not required when the Reedy Creek District for Disney World had more stringent requirements. The maneuver is because Dirty Diane assumes that nobody in this county is literate. She intends to bury costs and then hit the Mineral County School Board with a frying pan and tie their hands so they have no option other than to approve the budget without exception.
If history serves me right, we can assume the final budget for the next school year at the last minute. That ensures that if the Board rejects the budget, they have violated the NRS. It also forces the Mineral County School District School Board to clap like walruses for Chum to meet their obligations. Tragically, the school board doesn’t see they are but an act in a circus that Dirty Diane directs. If we had a real school board, they would demand answers prior to the last minute.
