Nevada has long had a public records law on the books to hold public entities accountable. Every state agency in Nevada complies with this law. As always, Hope Blinco and Andre Ponder actively go against public policy, and the practice of every state agency I have worked with in the past.

Hope Blinco is certainly no stranger to being lazy and avoiding work at any cost. She routinely spends more time finding ways to obstruct, conceal, or refuse to comply in lieu of actually doing her work. The latest draft of the public records request policy was certainly no exception.

I was stunned to see that Hope Blinco took so much time to try and slide in her personal preferences into this policy draft. The only reason someone would sneak fine print into a policy that suited her preference of printing over electronic redaction shines like a star. Hope and Andre I am sure know that electronic documents are supposed to be provided free of charge to the public, they simply don’t care. Worse, they assume somehow they are the only ones that know the law and the intent. Every other agency prefers electronic documents when available because they are faster, and free to the public.

I was also greatly concerned about the lack of transparency within what they can’t charge for. Again, surely the two clowns know what they are supposed to provide, but they don’t want the public to ever ask for it. For example, they are supposed to provide meeting information free of charge. Rather than list a few examples, they make it sound like some carnival prize if somehow guess the magic combination.

It is also unheard of that someone, let’s say Hope Blinco, is so ridiculous that while claiming so overworked can’t even accomplish her job yet has the capacity to track any record anyone asks for indefinitely in hopes that they will eventually exceed the $10 threshold so she can recoup a whopping $0.05 a page. That is nothing more than a scare tactic to make sure people don’t ask questions that they don’t want to answer.

I am sure I certainly paid a role in her wasting tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer dollars on her salary to create the laughable policy she did. You see, they are quite upset at me that I have been able to prove or disprove what has been said by them or myself. Hope Blinco has made a career of lying and was never expecting that someone would know the Open Records Law and get the proof because I don’t think anyone has done that before.

Usually Hope’s illegal, unethical, or otherwise prohibited behavior is enough that people simply walk away and don’t look back. To be honest, I probably would’ve too, but her behavior has become so egregious that it simply can’t be ignored anymore. I couldn’t walk away knowing that she intends to do it to countless others with our tax dollars. Sometimes a bully needs to be put in their place.
