Is it just me, or does the reintroduction of Diane Rodriguez into the District Administrative lead to the same result? I had initially heard that budget committees would begin end of January, or early February. To date, I have not seen anything on the issue.

The budget committee would have been a great opportunity even last fall to go over proposed expenditures in grants. Perhaps if they had happened, there would have been more transparency to what I would call a crooked contract with Diane Rodriguez. Instead she yet again burrowed into her host paycheck and managed to conceal what is actually going on.

My suspicion based my personal experience with Diane and several people at the administrative building is they are getting ready to pull a bait and switch on everyone again. I would venture to guess everyone should start bracing for the tin cup that Diane breaks out why cries poverty for the district while inserting large bills into her purse.

The budget committee certainly should’ve had consultation on some of the grant applications. I do not know for certain, but it seems suspect they would agree to have temporary positions, like World Language, that is an actual general fund position slid into a temporary slot. Why was the newly created payroll clerk not placed in the grant to restore funding for actual educators. The obvious reason is because that works against their interest.

Diane’s tried and true tactic will be waiting until budget is done, then claim no time to meet or change anything. There will also be no time for explanations. She will pound her fists, claiming almost bankrupt to avoid questions, that is if she doesn’t just shove the actual CFO in front of the wolves. She is known for creating problems and then jumping back and shoving people into the fire to save herself at the first sign of trouble.

The good news is there is still time to have budget meetings. To be optimistic, it is possible this isn’t history repeating itself. I would say if these don’t start happening by first work in March, then it is likely a scheme as that is all Diane seems to know for her over $70k a year in new found wealth.
