I was dismayed to see that Diane Rodriguez is yet again vacuuming up limited resources from the Mineral County School District. I will give her credit that at least this time, she is cleverly trying to change her tune. Apparently, after people started questioning her bogus claims of consulting, she has now moved onto policy.
Reading the agenda, it doesn’t take too long to figure out the upcoming scam. They are prepared to pay Diane Rodriguez over $5,000 to essentially plagiarize the fiscal policies of White Pine County. I fully intend to run the policies through a plagiarism checker when they are complete and see exactly how much she simply copied and pasted.
One would think after a dismal audit where she was on staff for that entire year with a price tag of approximately $70,000 that maybe the School Board would begin to question her actual skill level. To me it seems like years of consulting has resulted in one of the worst audits they have received.
It is also odd to me that Diane Rodriguez’s dear personal friend Jim Sciarani said they had already addressed all the deficiencies. Yet now suddenly they didn’t because Diane likely has a spending hangover from her lavish lifestyle.
Most people also don’t track that the policies that White Pine has, were like free policies from Pool Pact. Pool Pact releases policies for small schools each and every year. All someone, like a Human Resource Manager, would have to do is assemble the boiler plate. It is not the least bit shocking that Hope Blinco would want her retained to protect the useless payroll position the two of them snuck into the budget.
The one thing I can say is that I appreciate the current Superintendent follows the rules and did actually put it on an agenda. Last year, the former Superintendent simply misappropriated public funds after the school board said no to her demands. At least there is a transparency to Diane Rodriguez’s public welfare this year.
It is also notable that previous requests for her proof of liability insurance went unanswered to the Mineral County School District. The state has no record of her having a required state license and would be willing to bet that she lacks a local business license as required by law. I would turn that over to the District Attorney, but he is so entangled in probably the worst case of conflict of interest by representing the taxpayer and tax recipient at the same time.
My personal opinion would be that clearly Diane Rodriguez is nothing but a clown. Her assistance has only resulted in substantial deficiencies and a less than transparent budget. If things are as bad as they seem it is time they retain a CPA to assist in bringing things into compliance.
