This is the first summer since I was made extremely ill by the Mineral County School District. Last summer I spent the entire time trying to rebuild my lung capacity so that I could walk further than the edge of my yard. As trying as that was, I am glad I did it.
This year I am able to spend at least some time doing yard work. I can pull weeds again and garden. I didn’t realize how much I took all of that for granted until I regained the ability. I spent several hours out in the sun this last weekend before needing a break.
It is not just the ability to putter the yard, but also the ability to actual withstand heat again. Last year, I would very quickly overheat and get sick. This year I have an ability to enjoy the yard, even when not working in it.
I still have a long ways to go before I get my pre mold poisoning health back, but I am grateful for all the progress I made. It didn’t seem like much over short periods of time because was incremental. Over a year period it is certainly noticeable.
